Aims of the Company

The aims of the Company of Musical Players Inc. fall into two broad categories:

  1. To encourage and promote amateur talent

  2. To assist in fund raising activities of charitable organisations throughout the greater Wellington region

The Company of Musical Players has a reputation for quality and professionalism. Numerous charitable organisations have been assisted by the Company to raise funds for the good of the community.

About our shows

We produce a fun-filled cabaret style show including singing, dancing, drama and comedy. Audience comfort is provided by "host charity organisations" who arrange seating at candle lit tables (venue dependent) and provide a pleasant half time supper.

We are a unique "traveling show", performing at various venues in the greater Wellington area, including some out of town shows as far afield as Levin and the Wairarapa.

Cast and crew commitment

After auditions, dates of which are noted on this site, we rehearse for 2 nights a week for about 10 weeks. We also include a theatre workshop weekend, where cast are taught all aspects of stagecraft with some fun activities. Special invited guests come along to lead the workshop (2007 ~ John Goddard) and as well as learning a great deal, everyone has an enormous amount of fun!
